Stock Summary report
See how much stock you hold and what it is worth right now.
The Stock Summary lists every tracked product with its quantity and value today.
Open the report
Choose Accounts > Reports > Stock Summary, or open Stock Summary. You need access to Reports.
What you see
Two summary cards:
- Items in Stock - the number of products in the table.
- Total Valuation - the total value of all of them.
Below is the Current Stock Valuation table with these columns:
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Item | The product name |
| SKU | Its SKU, if it has one |
| Quantity | Units on hand |
| Unit Cost | The item's current purchase price |
| Value | Quantity multiplied by unit cost |
The total is repeated in the last row. If you have no products that track inventory, the table says "No tracked items with stock on hand."
Filter by branch
If your company has branches, a Branch filter appears. Choose All Branches or one branch and click Run Report.
Good to know
- Value uses each item's present purchase price, so it is a snapshot of today. It is not an average-cost or first-in-first-out valuation, and it changes if you change an item's purchase price.
- Only products with Track inventory on are included. Services and untracked products are left out.
- An item with no purchase price has a unit cost of 0.00, so it adds nothing to the total. Set purchase prices on your items for a meaningful valuation (see Add a product or service).
