Register and find patients
Register a new patient, search the patient list, and keep allergies and long-term conditions up to date.
Every person treated at the clinic has a patient record. It holds their clinical details and links to a customer record in your CRM, so billing works without extra setup.
Register a patient
- Open Clinic > Patients (Patients).
- Click Register a patient.
- Enter the Name (required). Fill in whatever else you know: Phone, Email, Date of birth, Gender, Blood group, Allergies, Long-term conditions, Emergency contact and Emergency phone.
- Click Register patient.
The patient receives a number such as P-00001. A message confirms it and offers Open the record.
If a patient with the same name and phone number already exists, you will see a warning. If it really is a different person, click Register anyway.
Find a patient
Type a name, phone number or patient number into Search. The table shows number, name, phone, age and gender, allergies and the date registered. Click Open to see the full record.
The patient record
The record shows the Details, a Today panel to add the patient to today's queue, and a Visits table with date, doctor, problem, diagnosis and status of every past visit.
- Edit changes the details (needs the Clinic Edit permission). If someone else saved the record first, you will be asked to reload.
- Deactivate patient stops the patient being added to the queue (they show as greyed out in the list); Restore patient brings them back. This needs the Clinic Create permission, and is refused while the patient has a visit in progress.
Good to know
- Registering, editing and adding to the queue need the Clinic Edit permission. With only View you can read records but not change them.
- Date of birth cannot be in the future. Age is worked out from it, and shown in months or days for babies.
- A deactivated patient cannot be added to the queue until restored.
- Next step: Run the daily queue.
