Read the hostel reports
See occupancy of beds and private rooms and, for a date range, revenue and the average rate per night.
Open the report
Choose Hostel then Hostel Reports, or open Reports. You need the Hostel "View" permission.
Pick the dates
Use From and To. By default the range runs from the first day of this month to today.
What the cards show
| Card | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Occupancy now | Occupied beds and private rooms as a percentage of those in service. The hint shows the counts. |
| Guests in the hostel | Guests checked in now, plus how many arrive and leave today. |
| Revenue | Total of the bills settled in the date range, before tax, including extras. |
| Average rate | The money from stay lines divided by bed or room nights sold. |
Below the cards, What the hostel has shows "Private rooms: X occupied of Y" and "Dorm beds: X occupied of Y".
Good to know
- Revenue counts a stay on the day it was settled (checked out).
- Voided charges are not counted.
- Revenue is before tax. The posted invoices hold the tax and the payments.
- A bed or room in Maintenance or Blocked is left out of the occupancy percentage. A dorm that is out of service takes all its beds out.
- Average rate ignores extras such as drinks, so it reflects the price of the nights only.
- Group bookings count each bed as its own stay.
